We're a startup, everything moves fast, and a lot of things are going on at the same time. We need people who have the initiative to improve things at Typedream.
We experiment with new things a lot. At the current moment, we're still trying to reach Product Market Fit. (Product Market Fit = when your product & the market "fits" such that people just comes in to use your product with little marketing effort). This means we will be trying different features and different target markets. There will be a lot of times when we don't know how to do something or we don't know anything about a certain topic, and so we'll go figure it out! We need people who aren't afraid of trying new things :)
Ask questions, make suggestions. We believe you know what you're doing, so don't just take what you're asked to do, if you have an opinion, voice it!
What we expect from you
All roles:
Customer support. Although this is not your main role, you'll be joining our community Slack Channel so you can hear our customers concerns, questions, bug reports, and feature requests.
Depending on your role you will be responsible for:
Build UI/UX for Typedream editor. Most of the features & improvements we made are directly related to customers needs that we hear from our Slack channel. It's important the the UI/UX you built solves their problems.
Join/observe UX research calls. This is sometimes required to build a UI/UX for big features/products.
Build resources for users. This is mostly website templates & assets (gradient backgrounds/text colors).
Build assets for marketing. This includes improving our landing pages and make assets for the marketing team for their posts.
Workflow for Features UI/UX
Our team (including you) would be online on our community Slack channel to hear users feedback, bug reports, and questions
From here, we'll create an appropriate "Issue" in Linear about the fix / feature that needs to be built.
An engineer would be assigned to build the feature, and "issues" that requires a UI design will be tagged with need ui label. (We might change this procedure later to make it easier).
That engineer, or Albert or Putri, would then ask you to make a Figma design for the feature.
Feel free to ask the team for feedback on your design! Especially the person who created the issue. For example:
Michelle found an issue and created an issue in Linear.
Later on, Albert assigned Jessica to work on it.
You should ask for Michelle's feedback on whether or not your design solves the issue
Also ask the assigned engineer for their feedback! You'll need to work together with the engineer to find a design that's "easy" to build AND solves the issue
Workflow for Templates & Resources
Our marketing team will share what kind of templates and resources we need. For example, we need a documentation template, shop landing page, etc.
Your job would be to research the suitable design for the use-case and the target customer.
For example: make a notion template landing page for Notion users to sell their Notion templates.
You need to research how Notion people like their sites to look like (like Notion usually), and what they put on it to sell the Notion Templates
You can make the design in Figma first before moving it to Typedream, or you can make it straight in Typedream it's up to you.
To make the site in Typedream:
Create a Typedream account and create a site. Ask Putri for coupon code to upgrade for free.
You can then place all your templates in that one site.
